Are you considering a career in health? We are here to help!
The Rangatahi Programme is a great opportunity for Māori and Pacific Year 12 and Year 13 students, who attend school within the Auckland and Waitemata District Health Boards boundaries, learn more about a career in health, prepare for the right tertiary study programme, and then gain employment in health.

The Rangatahi Programme offers:
  • an introduction to Māori and Pacific health professionals currently working in a hospital,
  • insight into what the health workplace looks like, and what a health career entails,
  • a 7-hour Introductory Day at Auckland Hospital,
  • a Workplace Experience Week at Auckland Hospital,
  • support right through to graduation from tertiary study and into the
  • health workplace.

Here’s a great opportunity for Year 12 & 13 Māori and Pacific senior secondary school students in your school who are considering a career in health.

We help you to access appropriate health career information and offer an introduction to Māori and Pacific health professionals where you see people at work in a hospital and see what the health workplace looks like. We are all about work – work experience and working in health after graduation.

We offer your Y12 and Y13 Maori and Pacific students an opportunity to a) investigate the option of pursuing a career in health; b) gaining some workplace exposure for one week at Auckland Hospital during school holidays; and c) receiving pastoral support through their tertiary studies. We are happy to provide any information for pathways to your students choice of health career. We are also happy to come and meet with you and answer any question you may have regarding the programme. Please note that Introduction to Health Careers Day is the prerequisite for a Work Experience Week.

Help your rangatahi find their place in a health career.

Your support and encouragement helps your rangatahi to make the best decisions for their futures.

We’re here to help you and your rangatahi learn more about health careers and how to make health a career choice.

We’ll help your rangatahi graduate from secondary school with the right qualifications for health career study.
